Chesapeake Juneteenth Foundation LLC is  the organizer for 2022 Chesapeake Juneteenth Weekend.  The event is managed by its Purple Events.  If you would like to be a vending partner with our event, please read through the FAQs and other information below, then click on VENDOR APPLICATION button to apply. Please contact us if you have any questions.  Our contact form is at the bottom of this page.

How do we begin the vendor application process?

Begin by clicking the Vendor Application at the bottom of this page. Be sure to include as much specific information regarding your business, the items you would like to sell and details about your event site set up as possible.

How many vendors will be accepted?

We try to have a variety of businesses for our event attendees.  It can be difficult to say how many but we expect more than 20, representing several different categories.  Be unique with your presentation in order to give festival attendees a special experience.

Will there be a contract?

A contract will be sent to you upon acceptance.  It will be sent to the email you provide.  It will require a digital signature from the representative of your company.  

Do I need insurance?

All businesses wishing to participate with our event must be able to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance with the appropriate additional insureds and monetary limits. Insurance requirements are listed below.

What permits do I need?

Your business must be in good standing with the  Commissioner of Revenue.  Food vendors must be in good standing with the Virginia Environmental Health Department.  It is suggested to contact The Fire Marshal regarding any questions pertaining to the Fire Safety Requirements that you may have. Participation in our event is contingent upon meeting the requirements of all relevant city departments.

How much does it cost?

There are various options for food and retail vendors based on size, and proximity to the main stage.  See options below

When is the payment due?

Once you apply a 50% deposit is due, the balance is due 30 days before the event.

Where do I park?

Parking arrangements for personal vehicles, box trucks and trailers are the sole responsibility of the individual vendor. There will be free parking around the venue, but any special requests should be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

Vendors participating in our events  must name our company as an additional insured on their certificate of insurance in the following manner:
Chesapeake Juneteenth Foundation LLC and their respective partners, subsidiaries, and affiliates are additional insured’s with respect to the named insured’s operations/activities. Waiver of subrogation applies in favor of the additional insured’s with respect to workers compensation.”
